Day 1

Arrival at Entebbe

On the first day of your Uganda tour, you'll arrive in Entebbe and be greeted by our representative. You'll then embark on a direct drive to Jinja, arriving at your hotel after a 2.5-hour journey, with lunch en route. Time permitting, you can enjoy birdwatching in Mabira Forest or try zip-lining. After checking in, you'll have the rest of the day to relax. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Transfer to Jinja

After breakfast, embark on a tour of Jinja. Begin at Sezibwa Falls Cultural Heritage site to admire the stunning waterfalls and learn about traditional African culture. Then, trek through Mabira Rainforest, observing wildlife like monkeys and birds. Continue with a boat ride on the Nile to visit its source. Optionally, enjoy whitewater rafting, kayaking, or a sunset cruise on the river.

A day in Jinja

After breakfast, set off on a Jinja tour. Start at Sezibwa Falls Cultural Heritage site to marvel at the waterfalls and learn about traditional African culture. Next, trek through Mabira Rainforest, spotting wildlife like monkeys and birds. Then, take a boat ride on the Nile to its source. Optionally, add whitewater rafting, kayaking, or a sunset cruise on the river.

Jinja to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

Set off early for a sunrise game drive on the Nyamsika Plateau. Spot animals like Cape buffaloes, Rothschild's giraffes, Uganda kob, hartebeest, and waterbucks. Birdwatching highlights include Goliath herons, Egyptian geese, pelicans, kingfishers, hornbills, shoebill storks, and saddlebill storks. This adventure offers an excellent opportunity to observe a variety of wildlife in their natural habitat.

Head to Kibale National Park

After an early breakfast, drive to Pakuba Airfield for your flight to Kasese Airstrip near Kibale National Park. Meet your private driver/guide upon arrival and transfer to your lodge for relaxation. In the afternoon, explore the Bigodi Swamp on foot, renowned for its biodiversity and large primate population including vervet and L'Hoest monkeys. Spot other mammals like sitatunga, mongooses, and bush pigs in this scenic swamp area. Overnight at the lodge.

Kibale National Park

After another early breakfast, journey to Kibale Forest, renowned for its diverse primate species in East Africa. Receive a briefing from rangers before embarking on a chimpanzee tracking expedition lasting about an hour. Encounter Black and White Colobus monkeys, L'Hoest Monkeys, Grey-cheeked Mangabeys, Red-tailed Monkeys, bush babies, pottos, and numerous bird species like the rumped tinkerbird and crowned eagle. Later, drive three hours to Queen Elizabeth National Park, enjoying scenic views of the Rwenzori Mountains weather permitting. Check into your lodge and relax.

Chimpanzee tracking in Kibale Forest National park

After breakfast, embark on a game drive in the northern part of the park along the Kasenyi Track, ideal for spotting lions, solitary buffaloes, and elephants. The morning hours are optimal for cat sightings due to the abundant Uganda kobs. Return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation before an afternoon launch trip on the renowned Kazinga Channel. This boat cruise offers excellent wildlife and bird-watching opportunities, including elephants, crocodiles, buffaloes, and various bird species like pink-backed pelicans and Kingfishers.

Today marks the start of your gorilla tracking adventure in Uganda. Receive a safety briefing at the park headquarters in Bwindi before embarking on this unforgettable journey. The mountain gorillas here are part of a global population of 1,000. Trek durations vary from two to eight hours. Once you encounter a gorilla family, enjoy a maximum of one hour with them—an exhilarating and memorable experience. Return to your lodge after the trek concludes.

Today, you'll be transferred to the airstrip for your flight back to Entebbe, or alternatively, take a long scenic drive arriving by late afternoon. Upon reaching Entebbe, transfer to Kampala for check-in and relaxation. In the evening, experience Kampala's vibrant nightlife, with pub-club hybrids featuring dance floors and pool tables bustling with European and American expats.
