History

Hoi An was a major trading port from the 15th to 19th century, attracting merchants from China, Japan, and Europe. It was an important stop along the Silk Road. Unlike many Vietnamese cities, Hoi An was spared from war destruction, allowing its historic architecture to remain intact. Today, it stands as a living museum of Vietnam’s cultural heritage.
