History

The Pinnacles Desert, within Western Australia’s Nambung National Park, formed approximately 25,000 to 30,000 years ago as seashell deposits compacted into limestone. Erosion from wind and water sculpted the unique formations seen today. Discovered by Europeans in the 1650s, the Pinnacles have long held cultural significance for the local Indigenous Yued people.
