Mount Kilimanjaro stands as Africa's highest peak and the world's fourth tallest mountain. This dormant volcano boasts three cones — Kibo, Mawenzi, and Shira within Tanzania's Kilimanjaro National Park. Among its various climbing routes, the Rongai Route is distinct for its serene wilderness and proximity to Kenya. It offers a unique chance to encounter wildlife and traverse rural landscapes, providing a glimpse into the lives of the Chagga village inhabitants along its northeastern path near the border.

Day 1
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport, our representative will greet you and escort you to Moshi. Explore the town, visit renowned coffee factories, attend coffee auctions, and purchase coffee to bring home. You can also make brief visits to neighboring villages to experience local culture. Included meals: Breakfast and dinner.
Day 2
The trail from Lion Camp to Second Cave Camp traverses through heath and moorland landscapes, offering occasional views of the savannah, weather permitting. By midday, we'll arrive at Second Cave Camp. After lunch, a brief hike to Third Cave aids in acclimatization to higher altitudes. We'll settle in for the night at Second Cave Camp, ensuring a comfortable stay amidst the natural surroundings.
Day 3
We proceed upwards through heath and moorland terrains to Kikelewa Camp, nestled in a sheltered valley encircled by senecios. Arriving by midday, we'll take time to explore the vicinity, soaking in the splendid panoramic vistas that surround us.
Day 4
Continuing through heath and moorland, the scenery transitions to more rugged terrain as we approach Mawenzi. Crossing rocky moraine ridges, we reach Mawenzi Tarn Hut, situated beside the pristine mountain lake, making it one of Kilimanjaro's most picturesque camps, sheltered by the looming Mawenzi peak.
Day 5
After breakfast, the ascent on Mount Kilimanjaro takes us steadily uphill, offering clear views of the Kibo saddle from the mountain ridge. Crossing the saddle connecting Mawenzi to the main summit of Kibo, we traverse through an alpine desert landscape, sparse with hardy vegetation adapted to the dry, oxygen-deprived conditions. Kibo Hut rests at the base of Kibo peak, where we rest early for the final ascent to the summit.
Day 6
After breakfast, the Mount Kilimanjaro hike ascends gradually. Upon reaching the mountain ridge, you'll have a clear view of the Kibo saddle. The trail continues over the saddle linking Mawenzi to Kibo's main summit. The landscape transitions to an alpine desert, with sparse vegetation surviving in the arid, low-oxygen environment. Kibo Hut, at Kibo peak's base, is where you'll spend the night before the final summit ascent.
Day 7
Today, we descend to Mandara Hut for lunch amidst the lush rainforests. Following this, we trek through the tropical rainforest, inhabited by blue monkeys and colobus monkeys. After approximately six hours, we reach the park entrance, bid farewell to our Mount Kilimanjaro hiking team, and receive our summit certificates. Returning to the hotel, relax with a shower and recount your adventures over drinks, savoring the memories of your journey.
Day 8
After a relaxing breakfast, you will be taken to the international airport for your return flight home or to your next destination. Your tour ends here with unmatched memories of a fantastic Mount Kilimanjaro hike.
